From earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America as a youth to owning several successful businesses, to being an award winning real estate agent, Brent Hatch has always followed the motto "If you want it, then 'Make It Happen!'"
That motto earned him the title of "The Hug Doctor" after he sold over 3.5 million of an invention he called the "Hug Card". What touches Brent the most are the letters he has received from people around the world expressing thanks and sharing amazing stories of their interaction with this little card. For so many people, this little card became a doorway to repairing existing relationships and creating new ones. Brent has been asked to give keynote presentations devoted entirely to the subject of the positive effects of hugging on relationships.
It was the horrific events at Columbine High School that changed Brent's life forever. In the wake of this tragedy, Brent, a father of seven, was determined to do something to make the world a safer place. Drawing on his experiences as a father and with the Hug Card, he began writing this thoughts down. This collection of writings became a manuscript for parents to improve their communication and relationships with their children. This manuscript was given the title "Raising a G-Rated Family in an X-Rated World". Even though Brent had never before published, or let alone written, a book, he now drew upon his business experiences and his motto "Make It Happen!"
"Raising a G-Rated Family in an X-Rated World" became a National Best Seller and earned he and his wife, Phelecia, a trip to Washington DC as California's Parents of the Year. Brent has been featured on Fox News, MSNBC, ABC News, The Today Show and countless other media and publications.
Following in his father's footsteps, Brent's 14 year old son, McKay, started the "No Cussing Club" which also gained national media attention. Brent and McKay were featured on the Dr. Phil show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, CNN, and many others.
Brent is a very enthusiastic, animated and passionate personality and has been speaking to businesses, parenting groups, municipalities, schools and universities across the nation about his experiences and how through persistence and perseverance people can make their own dreams happen.
